The Story...
The Anti-Job formed at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York.
In the Spring of 2008, through the encouragement of a mutual friend, Amanda Jones and Martin Lopez-Iu began playing together as an acoustic duo....
One year later...
In Spring of 2009 Amanda and Martin decided to amplify their sound. And they finally agreed on the band name, The Anti-Job.They added drummer Katie Troy, a good friend of Amanda, and performed their first New York gig under the name The Anti-Job in February of 2009.

Since then...
Their two lead singles, ”The Robbery" and "Love Strange” from their debut E.P. "We Are The Anti-Job", have been played several times on British internet radio shows. In early 2010 their band was featured on Artrocker Magazine TV. They were interviewed on college radio stations, including WMUC at University of Maryland and WVKR at Vassar College. The Anti-Job also finished in 2nd place out of 300 bands in a promotional competition to play at Noise Pop Festival 2009 in San Francisco, California. In the summer of 2010, they toured the East Coast and Mid-West, and opened for many exciting acts, including Elizabeth and the Catapult, Changing Modes, and RA the MC.
Martin and Amanda collaborate with numerous musicians to achieve the sound that is The Anti-Job.
